will be the topic of this post but first of all, a few words:
So everyone is blogging about The Dark Knight. I thought that I should spare this blog and any hapless blog reader out there that has stumbled upon this by chance my impressions of the film. To give you my comments in a nutshell, I recall the text message I sent to Fred after ten to fifteen minutes of floorage index:
Catch TDK on the big screen or regret it forever. Yet we’ll have to buy the DVD because clearly, it warrants more than one viewing.
During my whole watching experience, there is only this one thing that irked me. This terrible bobo who kept chuckling while the Joker was delivering his lines. Tumawa amputs. Nakakatawa ba ha? Bobo.
Anyway, thats about it. My impressions in a nutshell.
What I am thinking right about now is what will the dark style of TDK do with the next Batman films. Clearly we have thrown the campiness away; there is no turning back to slapstick monster-of the-week interpretation. Ledger, Nolan and Eckhart have spoiled us.
With the deep characters of the Joker and Two-Face now interpreted beautifully, how would the next interpretation and existing villain characters compare? Nolan has vowed never to put the Penguin and Catwoman on the next installment, saying that he would prefer showing those villains that have not made yet into the big screen.
Slash off Freeze, Poison Ivy and the Riddler for the list now shall we. (And those character backgrounds are even pretty rich material too, even though they have been portrayed before in the Burton films.)
So which ones are left? I was rummaging though the Rouge Gallery list earlier this day to find out the most likely candidates. So begins the
WHO WILL BE THE NEXT BATMAN MOVIE VILLAIN?
Let’s discuss the pros and cons of the 8 remaining most-likely candidates shall we?

Clayface- the Batman:The Animated Series idea
Clayface – Inarguably one of the most distinct of the Batman villains aside from those already mentioned and portrayed, Clayface can mold himself into any form and pummel away. Although he was last seen, I think, rotting away with some form of disease, in the re-imagining of Nolan and company the pros would be:
-
CGI. Bringing Clayface onto screen would be eye candy, and a crowd pleaser. Talk about an Emmy for special effects.
-
Long overdue. Clayface is one of the more popular Batman villains and with the advent of CGI tech this is the best time. We can do it.
The cons on the other hand, would be greater. Why? Here’s my case:
-
Been there. Clayface’s appearance is too close to Spiderman 3’s Sandman. Its inevitable to draw comparisons. Therefore its nothing new. Most likely.
-
A worthy but difficult interpretation risk. Sure we can portray Clayface as grungier, darker, sewer-ish. But cut it too close and youre bringing Swamp Thing, not Clay.
-
More CGI, less acting. Really less acting. This is what I meant by were spoiled by Ledger: we will not settle for a CGI character vying for an Emmy. Simply. Not. Possible.
I realize this would be too long so I’d be serializing this topic into several blog posts . Let’s all think about this shall we? To tide ourselves over until the next movie comes.

I read over the yahoo news page that Johnny depp will be The Riddler, so I guess, there.
I also had the same experience amputs. Andaming tumawa when Joker was delivering his sarcastic-psychodramatic lines in the movie. Kala nila nakakatawa. Di nila nagets that it should be creepy and dark. Daming bobo. Nakakainis talaga.

Hayden Christensen has been casted as the Joker, to fill the late great Heath Ledger. Nolan discusses it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU#

Ummm, you win an Emmy for work in television. Oscars are for film. If you don’t know this, you really don’t have ANY business commenting on entertainment stories as you obviously have no clue how the entertainment industry works. No way in hell they would use a cgi villian in the next batman. This isn’t Fantastic Four, its Christopher Nolan.

Hey joe, sorry about my lack of knowledge, I’m really not awards-crazy. If people who can only comment are those who knows how the entertainment industry works, the world will be pretty boring don’t you think so? Next, I’m not saying they’ll be using complete CGI- now that’s dumb. Its just in this character, its indispensable.

I think that killer crock should be in the next batman flick. He’s my favorite batman villain and would be
great for the darker, more intense version of the batman movies.

I agree Chris. Th Croc would make for an intense and dark material if handled correctly on script. Plus its a classic Batman point. My only apprehension is that he might be used as a “musclehead” character, like when Bane was used as a henchmen goon character in Batman Forever (I think). I’d like to see a feral-psychosis take on the Croc really, the losing battle between sanity and wild hunger, which is really, the core of the his flaw in the comics.
